Why Good Airflow Design Is the Most Undervalued Part of Cooling Efficiency
Talk to any technician, engineer, or distributor about what really makes an air conditioner efficient and he or she will jump out with tonnage, SEER ratings, compressor technology or type of refrigerant. But after decades working with systems, components, and Air Conditioning Parts, I can confidently say that the most overlooked factor in cooling efficiency is airflow design. Even the best systems run way below their theoretical capability without having a proper airflow, or correct CFM, balanced pressure, and a free duct path.
